A planned refurbishment of John Dalton House in the centre of Manchester and its conversion into a hotel has been revived.
Refurbishment plans include a full recladding of the building and the addition of a two-floor extension. These items were approved two years ago.
At that time Leonardo Hotels were the likely hotel operator of what would have been a 215-bedroom hotel with retail and leisure space on the ground floor.
A new hotel is back on the cards after updated plans were submitted for the building. This time around QBIC Hotels are the likely operators of the John Dalton House hotel.
The latest plans indicate an increase in the number of bedrooms to 261. The hotel will also feature a basement gym and a ground floor restaurant with bedrooms on the upper floors.
John Dalton House is located on a key corner site in Deansgate in central Manchester between the business area of Spinningfields and the civic quarter.
