Room 2 Southampton is housed in a former office building which dates from the 1990's. Ithas been designed by Project Orange – a Shoreditch-based design studio with a focus on ‘design, comfort and value’.

The interior features are not dissimilar to those found on board traditional cruise liners, a nod towards the importance of Southampton in trans-Atlantic travel.

Room 2 has 71 studio rooms each with a fully equipped kitchen, work table, rainfall showers, free wi-fi, screen mirroring TV, a king sized bed and air conditioning.

Long-term locker spaces are available for guests working away from home for long spells so they can leave items over the weekend and return on Monday.

Other facilities include a continental breakfast and coffee bar, a pantry-style shop, a bar, a laundry and dry cleaning service plus the Living Room - a communal space for working and socialising.

Further Room 2 projects are on the drawing board with one planned to open in Manchester in 2020.
