Part of a 14-storey office building in Salford could be turned into a hotel under plans submitted to Salford City Council. Omega Travel, owners of Sentinel House on Peel Street, want to convert half of the building into a 132-bedroom hotel.
Omega Travel brings Chinese tourists to the UK and coaches them to tourist attractions in London and Scotland. Their plans for the building also include a 180sq-mt entrance foyer, a 218-cover restaurant and bar on the second floor, a coach lay-by/drop-off area. The rest of the building would remain as office space.
The hotel would be targeted at tourists flying in to Manchester Airport as a midway point between Scotland and London.
