Development work on the new Park Regis hotel at Five Ways in Birmingham is expected to start any day now. The former Auchinleck House office block is being transformed into a four-star hotel with plans for a 50,000 sq. ft. conference centre. A 16th floor is being added to the building which will house the hotel’s sky bar and restaurant.
Park Regis Birmingham will have 300 bedrooms. It will feature a range of meeting, conference and private dining areas on the 15th floor. There will also be a lobby lounge and bar, library, business centre and gym.
There is consent for a 250,000 sq. ft. conference centre and this will form a second phase of the development but until then the plot will serve as a 144-space car park. The hotel is expected to open in 2016.
Park Regis Birmingham is five minutes by taxi from Birmingham New Street Station and a short walk from Birmingham’s ICC and Indoor Arena, the Birmingham REP Theatre and the city’s new central library.
Park Regis hotels are part of the Australian-based StayWell Hospitality Group which operates 34 hotels in the Asia Pacific Region. Park Regis Birmingham is the group’s first venture in the UK.
