The Core is a new science and technology building which has just opened in Newcastle’s urban quarter. The Core, owned by Newcastle City Council, will houses companies working on a range of “future city challenges” including energy, transport, big data and cloud computing.

The ground floor of The Core is available to hire for conferences and events for up to 150 delegates. The space features two ceiling-mounted projectors, televisions and DVD facilities plus free use of flipchart equipment. Additional smaller meeting rooms are available on the upper floors. These comprise two seminar rooms each accommodating up to 36 delegates theatre-style plus four syndicate rooms seating between 10 and 16 delegates. There is a range of catering options available in-house.

The Core is located in the centre of Newcastle a two minute walk from St. James’ Park football stadium and metro station and a 10-15 minute walk from Newcastle Central station. The Sandman Signature Hotel is alongside.
