New plans have been submitted for the development of Gateway House, the 'lazy S' building on the station approach to Manchester Piccadilly Station. The latest scheme consists of a 182-bedroom aparthotel with retail space on the ground and office space on a mezzanine floor. The apartotel will have one and two-bedroom suites and be operated by StayCity.
The ground floor of Gateway House is currently used as a retail space although there is a possibility that the building could be demolished make way for the expansion of Piccadilly Station to accommodate HS2.
