Plans have been submitted for a new 40-bedroom boutique hotel in the centre of Paisley in Scotland. The site for the proposed hotel is opposite Paisley Abbey and consists of two buildings - Kelvin House, which was built in 1939 and has an Art Deco front elevation, and Forbes Place. Forbes Place is an older building dating from the mid-19th century and was used for patternmaking. The new hotel will be called the Patternmaker.
As well as the 40 bedrooms, the Patternmaker will also include a bar, a brasserie restaurant and conference facilities. The hotel will sit alongside a microbrewery.
The development is being spearheaded by Tom Stewart, the owner of the 14-bedroom Ashtree House hotel also in Paisley. If given the go-ahead, the Patternmaker is expected to open in summer 2016.
