Leicester Racecourse has just opened its new King Richard III Suite which has been refurbished and designed in his honour. The opening comes just ahead of the king's final journey from the University of Leicester to Leicester Cathedral on 22nd March, a mere five hundred years after he died whilst looking for a horse at Bosworth Field on the other side of the County.
The King Richard III Suite comprises two former hospitality boxes which have been refurbished in medieval style with a large portrait of Richard on one of the walls. It will be used by corporate guests on race days, and for conferences and other events on non-race days. It is one of a variety of meeting and banqueting spaces at Leicester Racecourse all of which have complimentary wi-fi throughout.
Last year Leicester Racecourse opened The KUBE, their new event and exhibition space which will seat up to 1000 delegates theatre style.
Next year Leicester Racecourse is planning to reopen the golf course which runs alongside the racecourse. This will include a new floodlit driving range.
Leicester Racecourse is located in Oadby just south of the city of Leicester, one mile from Leicester station and alongside the main A6. There is free parking on site for up to 2000 vehicles.
