City Councillors in Cardiff are shortly to debate a £500million, 15-year-plan to make the city a top destination for leisure and business tourism.
The proposals, to be implemented by 2020, include increasing the amount of four and five star accommodation by 1,500 bedrooms and securing an additional £500million of new tourism investment.
The strategy would be led by the private sector working with Cardiff City Council and the universities with input from Visit Wales and Visit Britain.
The plan will be is to be voted on by councillors later this week.
