The Grand Hotel and Spa in York is the new name for the five-star, 107-bedroom former Cedar Court Grand Hotel and Spa; the ownership of which changed last year.
The Grade II-listed building was originally constructed as the headquarters of North Eastern Railways. It was converted into a hotel five years ago. Now redevelopment plans just submitted for approval will see the Grand Hotel and Spa double the number of its bedrooms by expanding into the adjacent Roman House property. A new restaurant is also planned as well as a refurbishment programme to the existing bedrooms.
The Grand Hotel and Spa York has six meeting rooms. The Grand Boardroom is the largest with floor to ceiling wood panelling, huge windows and the original parquet floor. The room has views overlooking the Minster and the York city wall. It will seat up to 120 delegates for a meeting.
The Chairman’s Suite, originally the chairman’s office, will accommodate up to 40 delegates.
The Grand Hotel and Spa York is located in Station Rise a five minute walk from the centre of York.
