Accor Hotels is to undergo a Euro22 million reorganisation which will enable independent hoteliers to offer their rooms on the Accor booking website. The move is viewed as the group's fight back against online travel agents. Accor will also be changing its name to "AccorHotels", in line with its website and as part of the overall strategy.

AccorHotels has 3,700 hotels worldwide across the price spectrum ranging from Sofitels to the Ibis chain. Its goal is to triple its online offering to 10,000 hotels by 2018 via this new service which will be launched in July 2015.

Accor currently makes a third of its sales online, evenly split between bookings made via its own website and bookings made via online travel agents.
