Solihull-based MADE Architecture have drawn up plans to convert a historic former tram depot in Birmingham into a restaurant and conference facility. Highgate Road Tram Depot opened in Birmingham's Sparkbrook in November 1913, but has now been vacant for a number of years.
Plans would see the space developed into a restaurant, conference and function facilities, as well as providing a three-storey car park.
The tram station is located in a relatively deprived part of inner Birmingham, a couple of miles out from the city centre. The development is viewed as a way of attracting more business to the area.
The application is being considered by Birmingham City Council planners.
