Barton Grange Hotel in Preston has completed the second stage of its £500,000 refurbishment programme this month. It includes a full upgrade of four training suites, the main Barton Suite and 51 bedrooms. Plans to build the ‘Flower Bowl’ (pictured left) a new curling rink and leisure complex at its garden centre site have also been approved.
The Barton Suite at Barton Grange Hotel now includes feature lighting, a new audio/PA system and the latest technology. A new bar area is also planned for the Barton Suite which is scheduled to open at the end of 2015.
Improvements to bedrooms include décor upgrades, new mattresses, individual Sky TV boxes and free hi-speed fibre wi-fi plus Nespresso coffee machines in all the executive and superior rooms.
The Flower Bowl is the new £6million curling rink and leisure development at Barton Grange which has just received planning approved. The development will be alongside the Barton Grange Garden Centre a mile further north up the A6 from Barton Grange Hotel.
When the Flower Bowl is built it will be only the second curling rink in England. The project will feature an eco-friendly design and will include a cinema, a tenpin bowling venue, a diner-style restaurant and a coffee shop. There will also be a sports shop for customers to buy or hire kayaks for use on the nearby Lancaster Canal. Work onsite is expected to begin later this year with the development opening to the public in 2017.
