The Bill Shankly-themed, Shankly Hotel, opens in Liverpool with 86 bedrooms on 15 August 2015.

As befits a football-themed hotel it will be an opening of two halves. The first part will include a 150-seat restaurant and bar called ‘The Bastion’ - based on a quote by the former Liverpool FC manager Bill Shankly about making his team a "bastion of invincibility". 60 of the bedrooms will be Shankly-themed rooms.

The second half of the development will include a rooftop bar and restaurant, conference facilities and a rooftop garden. It is expected to open in spring 2016.

The Shankly Hotel will also include a museum dedicated to the football icon, which will contain family memorabilia covering his reign at Anfield.

The Shankly Hotel is located  in the Millennium House building, former council offices in Victoria Street in central Liverpool - between Liverpool Lime Street station and the Albert Dock.
