A multimillion-pound plan to convert Wigan’s Grade II-listed Haigh Hall into a luxury hotel and spa has been given the go-ahead.
A £6million restoration plan will see Haigh Hall restored to its former glory and transformed into a four-star boutique hotel complete with 30 en-suite bedrooms, a spa and a fitness centre.
The restoration of Haigh Hall is at the centre of a wider regeneration masterplan for Haigh Woodland Park, which includes a new family adventure zone with a high ropes area and an innovative adventure golf course, improved footpaths and heritage trails and a kitchen courtyard within the existing Stables Courtyard.
Haigh Hall is owned by Wigan Council and leased to Contessa Hotels. No dates for when the new hotel will open have been published yet.
Haigh Hall is located midway between the M6 at junction 27 and the M61 at junction 6 with good access to both.
