The Great Northern Hotel located opposite the Eurostar terminal at King's Cross St Pancras Station in London has joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Tribute Portfolio. The 91-bedroom hotel has been relaunched as the Great Northern Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel.
The Great Northern Hotel first opened in 1854 and reopened in 2013 following a £40 million redesign and renovation. The Tribute Portfolio was launched in April 2015 as Starwood's tenth brand and comprises independent four-star and luxury hotels from around the world.
All 91 bedrooms at the Great Northern Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel overlook King’s Cross and St Pancras stations and feature tall sash windows, bespoke furniture and state-of-the-art technology including extensive soundproofing, high-speed wireless internet access and an entertainment package comprising 96 television channels. Plum + Spilt Milk is the hotel’s restaurant whose name originates from the colours of the dining cars pulled by the Flying Scotsman train back in the days of steam.
Great Northern Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel is the first 'Tribute' branded hotel in Europe. Starwood aims to grow the brand to 100 hotels by 2020.
