An £80million project to build a new indoor water park and hotel at the West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley has been granted outline planning permission by local councillors.
The hotel will be entirely independent of the water park. It will include around 250 bedrooms, a conference centre and a spa. The water park will include waterslides, a splash area, wave pool, external river rapids and a restaurant.
No date has been set for the start of construction but an opening date for the new waterpark has been set at 2017.
