Science Gallery London is gearing up for an opening in 2018.  

Science Gallery London will be housed in a Grade II-listed Georgian building, which is being newly restored and landscaped.

Science Gallery London is part of the King’s College London campus at London Bridge. Itwill be located at the foot of The Shard, moments away from London Bridge station.

Science Gallery London will be set over three floors and will include cafes, courtyards, a terrace, theatre, galleries and a range of flexible meeting and events spaces.

Science Gallery London will offer the following for events:

- Seated dinners for 120 guests

- Lecture theatre for 150 delegates

- Summer parties in the courtyard for 500 guests

- Christmas parties for up to 320 guests

- Private dining with a private balcony for 32 people

- Receptions in the exhibition area for 350 people

All meeting rooms will be equipped with the latest technology. A full catering service will be provided in-house at Science Gallery London.

The primary aim of Science Gallery London is to connect art, science and health. Its opening exhibition "Hooked" will focus on the cycle of addiction and should prove a talking point for guests during events. The exhibitions will change on a regular basis.

Serviced apartment operator, Lamington Group, is to launch a new concept, “hometels”. 

The group claim it is a ‘completely different approach to staying away from home’.

Lamington Groupis set to open Room 2, its first ‘hometel’, in Southampton in June 2018 with 71-bedrooms.

Room 2 will open in an unused office building in Southampton.

The ground floor will feature a spacious, flexible space for guests to work, socialise or relax day and night. It will include a coffee lounge, a bar selling a range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails and a gym/workout studio.

There will also be a pantry-style shop for guests who want to prepare meals in their apartment.

Each studio room will have a fully equipped kitchen, a work table, a rainfall shower, free wi-fi, screen mirroring TV, a king sized bed and air conditioning.

There will also be a selection of rooms feature ‘mezzanine top decks’ for flexible stays accommodating families, children and sharers.

Room 2 is located at 1-8 Queens Terrace in Southampton.

Wyboston Lakes Resort, a major conference and leisure venue, is planning to invest more than £3million on its conference facilities.

This latest refurbishment will bring the total investment at the Resort to more than £10million in the last few years.

The investment will increase the outdoor space at the venue. It will also upgrade the meeting rooms with half a million pounds earmarked specifically for the IT infrastructure.

Devonshire Terrace in London, part of the Corney & Barrow Group, is re-launching at the end of March following a refurbishment.  

Devonshire Terrace is located just off Bishopsgate and a five-minute walk from Liverpool Street station.

Devonshire Terrace includes a modern restaurant as well as four private dining/meeting rooms.

Each meeting room will accommodate up to 20 delegates seated or up to 40 with two rooms combined.  Each comes with its own heated, covered terrace.

The rooms are equipped with a plasma screen and connectors for presentations, pads and pens, a flip chart and marker pens.

The rooms are available on either a half day or full day hire for client meetings, presentations, brainstorming or for private dinners.

A wine merchant in Harrogate has launched a dedicated wine tasting events space above the shop. 

Harrogate Wines has opened a 1500 sq-ft space which will accommodate up to 40 guests. It is available for both corporate and private event customers.

The events space has a full bar, seating, catering facilities and toilets.

Harrogate Wines in located in Montpellier Street in the town’s Montpellier Quarter, a district renowned for its independent restaurants and bars as well as specialist retailers and galleries.
