The Grand Hotel and Spa in York has started to operate a helicopter transfer service to collect and drop-off guests.
The Grand Hotel and Spa will be using two helicopters for this service – a four-seat Robinson R44 and a five-seat Bell 206 Jet Ranger.
The helicopter will pick up guests from the grounds of their homes, or land nearby, or Manchester Airport and fly them to York.
The hotel’s chauffeur service will then collect them from the drop-off point within the grounds of York Racecourse, a five-minute drive away from the hotel.
The Grand Hotel and Spa is the only five-star rated hotel in York.
The hotel is set to almost double in size with the opening of 100 new guest rooms in March 2018. A new luxury executive lounge and arrivals lounge as well as a new restaurant are also part of the £15million expansion project.
For guests preferring a more traditional means of arrival, the Grand Hotel and Spa is located alongside York’s historic wall with its own car park and within a five minute walk of York Station.
