The Newcastle-based Cairn Group has launched ‘The Cairn Collection’; a hand-picked selection of ten historic hotels in locations across the UK.

The hotels have been selected for inclusion within the collection based on a number of criteria, including the historic design, the fabric of the buildings themselves as well as their locations.

Dalata Hotel Group is the new owner of Hotel La Tour in the centre of Birmingham. They plan to rebrand the 174-bedroom hotel as a Clayton Hotel in the final quarter of 2017.

Hotel La Tour Birmingham opened in 2012. It includes a restaurant and bar as well as extensive conference and meeting facilities.

Hotel La Tour Birmingham is situated in Park Street, virtually overlooking Birmingham Moor Street Station and within a short walk of Birmingham New Street Station.

The Dalata Group has a portfolio of 37 hotels which operate under either Maldron Hotels or Clayton Hotels branding.

Workspace provider Regus has revealed plans to open a new business centre in Birmingham.

The Regus Business Centre will occupy 12,650 sq-ft at Park House in Rubery, part of the Longbridge regeneration scheme in the south western suburbs of Birmingham.

Regus Park House is a refurbished workplace and will provide a serviced reception and full meeting and conference room facilities for up to 100 people. It will open later this year.

Regus Park House is located in Bristol Road South, around a five minute drive from the M5 at junction 4, a 15/20 minute drive from the centre of Birmingham and 30 minutes from Birmingham International Airport.

The Clubhouse is a London-based business club and flexible workspace provider with two properties in London: in Mayfair and St James’s.

A third, Clubhouse Bank, is set to open in October on the 7th and 8th floors of Angel Court in the City of London.

The meeting rooms and boardrooms at The Clubhouse in Mayfair and St. James’s Square will seat up to 12 people and include HD screens and audio-conferencing facilities.

Facilities also include brainstorming and events space as well as meeting rooms for up to 80 delegates theatre style.

All meeting rooms are charged on an hourly basis and include complimentary tea, coffee, still and sparkling water. The Clubhouse caters for both breakfast and lunch meetings.

The Clubhouse Bank will have similar features to those found in the other two locations. It will also feature a roof terrace and roof garden with a panoramic view of the City.

Plans have been approved for a new 142-bedroom hotel in Blackpool’s Central Business District.

The hotel is part of the £100million Talbot Gateway regeneration scheme planned in the resort.

The new five-storey hotel will include a restaurant and bar along with conference facilities and retail units on the ground floor.

The hotel will be located next to Blackpool North station, above the new tramway terminus and a short walk from Blackpool town centre.

Construction is expected to start shortly but anticipated completion dates have not yet been published.
