The Leadenhall Building in central London, better known as The Cheesegrater, is promoting its ‘Conference in the Sky’ programme in Landing Forty Two at the top of the building.

Landing Forty Two offers over 5,000 sq-ft of flexible meeting space. It will accommodate from 60 up to 220 delegates for a conference or dinner.

The venue is fully equipped with the latest technology including plasma screen, lecterns and microphones. In-house catering is available.

SACO, the serviced apartment operator, is set to launch a new brand of aparthotels. The new brand will be called ‘Locke’ after the British 17th century philosopher John Locke.

The first Locke property is due to open in a sky tower in Leman Street, Aldgate in central London. Leman Locke is scheduled to open in October. It will have 168 apartments including 105 studios and 63 one-bedroom suites.

Leman Locke will also feature two bars, all day dining spaces on the ground and first floors, a gym, two sky meeting rooms on floors 21 and 22, as well as indoor and outdoor lounge areas.

Every Locke studio and suite will feature a high-spec kitchen, bespoke furniture and bedding, ultrafast wi-fi and SMART HD televisions plus temperature controlled air conditioning.

Hilton Southampton in Chilworth is currently undergoing a £4million refurbishment programme prior to its rebranding as the DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton; a move scheduled for winter 2016.

Churchill College, Cambridge, officially opens its new Cowan Court development in September 2016.

Cowan Court will include 68 hotel-standard double ensuite bedrooms plus a new multi-purpose meeting space named the Sixties Room. Cowan Court will also include three fully accessible bedrooms for disabled visitors and residents.

Cowan Court is built in the ‘Danish style’, comprising a renewable timber-framed building clad with reclaimed oak with pale decoration, bespoke furniture, a tree-filled courtyard and large outward-facing windows in all rooms.

When Cowan Court opens, Churchill College will have 200 ensuite bedrooms available for conference clients during vacations, in addition to 250 standard bedrooms.

Conference and meeting facilities at Churchill College include a purpose-built Lecture Theatre seating 300 delegates, a Dining Hall for 400 guests plus a range of smaller meeting and break-out rooms, all set in more than 40 acres of parkland and playing fields.

Storrs Hall Hotel overlooking Lake Windermere has joined the Bespoke Hotels roster. The Bespoke group will manage and operate the hotel which is located in 17 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds in the heart of the Lake District.
