Signature Living, Liverpool-based apartment and hotel operators, are planning to develop a new site. The group has acquired One Arthouse Square in Liverpool’s Ropewalks area.

The building was the home of NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group. Signature Living is planning a redevelopment of the multi-storey building into an aparthotel.

The proposed development could feature an art and film theme as the building is close to FACT a new media arts centre also based in Liverpool's Ropewalks.

Signature Living  are currently working on a number of schemes including the redevelopment of 60 Old Hall Street in the centre of Liverpool, as well as the construction of a roof bar and terrace at the recently opened Shankly Hotel in the city.

Accor Hotels are planning to invest around £160 million developing five new hotels in the UK that will open over the next 18 months.

The investments include a flagship 313-bedroom, 39-storey Novotel at Canary Wharf in London (pictured). It is scheduled to open in January 2017 and will claim the title ‘the world’s tallest Novotel’.

The other properties include a 120-bedroom Ibis Styles Ealing in west London opening June 2016 and a 231-bedroom Ibis Cambridge opening September 2016.

The following year a 146-bedroom Adagio at Edinburgh Carlton Gate is scheduled to open in the January. A 196-bedroom Ibis Hotel Canning Town opens in East London later that year.

Hilton Worldwide has unveiled plans to bring Canopy by Hilton, the group's new 'lifestyle' brand, to the UK.

Canopy by Hilton London City is scheduled to open in Aldgate in early 2018. The world’s first Canopy by Hilton opens in Reykjavik, Iceland this summer.

A key feature of the Canopy by Hilton brand will be 'Canopy Central', a ground floor lobby designed to reflect the local neighbourhood.

Canopy by Hilton London City will include a restaurant and a rooftop bar as well as meeting rooms and a fitness centre for guests.

Canopy by Hilton London City will be situated at 16 Minories adjacent to London's Roman and medieval city walls. The hotel is part of a mixed-use development which will also feature a new city square, a public green garden, an office building and a new residential building.

Indian-based Hinduja Group has acquired the Grade II-listed Old War Office in Whitehall in central London. They plan to restore and convert the building’s 1,100 rooms into a five star hotel and luxury residences.

The hotel will also include a spa, fitness facilities as well as conference and banqueting space.

Located at 57 Whitehall, near the Houses of Parliament, the Old War Office encompasses 580,000 sq-ft of space over seven floors.

The sale of the property is part of the MoD’s wider strategy to rationalise its defence estate.

Z City has just opened opposite the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Z City is the conversion of a former office block. The hotel has 109 bedrooms and is part of the Z Hotel chain.
