JD Wetherspoon is set to open four new hotels alongside its pubs over the next few weeks. Openings include:
35-bedroom hotel above The John Francis Basset pub in Commercial Street in Camborne, Cornwall opening 7 July 2015 - pictured.
12-bedroom Browns Hotel in Tavistock, Devon opening 21 July 2015.
36-bedroom Crown Hotel in Worcester opening 18 August 2015.
52-bedroom hotel above the existing Furness Railway pub in Barrow, Cumbria opening 1 September 2015.
All Wetherspoon hotels feature an ensuite bathroom, unlimited free wi-fi, a flatscreen television with Freeview TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
The new sites represent an investment of £9million and will take the number of Wetherspoon hotels to 40 with more openings planned. It will take the total number of bedrooms in Wetherspoon hotels to more than 1,000.

Thwaites Brewery has unveiled plans to build another ‘Lodge on the Park’ property in the south of England.
The Lancashire-based brewery has portfolio of hotels currently including six Shire Hotels, eight Inns of Character plus just the one Lodge on the Park located in Bristol across the road from its sister property the Shire Hotels Aztec Hotel and Spa.
Lodge on the Park is a contemporary hotel brand which focusses on offering comfortable and affordable accommodation with a bistro restaurant and a Starbucks coffee lounge. Guests can use the leisure and spa facilities as well as the extensive meeting facilities at the Aztec Hotel and Spa. It is located on the edge of Bristol, within easy access of the M4 and M5.
In other group news, a 30 bedroom extension is under construction at the Cottons Hotel & Spa, the Shire Hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire, just off the M6 and close to Manchester Airport.

The Lanesborough is to reopen in London in July 2015 following an 18-month revamp. All 93 bedrooms including the 43 suites as well as all seven private dining rooms and meeting rooms, the lobby and the Michelin-starred restaurant have all been refurbished.
The Lanesborough now features a 4,800 square feet suite on the second floor with seven bedrooms and two living rooms with guests given free access to one of the hotel’s chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce Phantoms.
The Lanesborough overlooks Hyde Park Corner and Buckingham Palace gardens in central London. Built in 1827, The Lanesborough was home to St George’s hospital before being converted into a hotel in 1991. The hotel is now owned by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and will be managed by the Oetker Collection.

The Vicarage Freehouse and Rooms is a 17th Century Grade II-listed country pub and hotel located in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire. The restaurant reopened last year.
Twenty boutique-style bedrooms have just opened with six Signature Suites scheduled to open in October 2015.Owners describe the style of the hotel as 'quirky–comfort meets country–chic'.
Bedrooms at The Vicarage Freehouse and Rooms are a mix of twins and doubles, all recently refurbished in a boutique style with rainmaker showers. The six Signature Suites opening in October will be located in the listed part of the building. These will be generously sized rooms featuring open beams. The hotel has free wi-fi throughout.
There is a ground floor meeting room with plenty of natural daylight which will accommodate up to 50 delegates for a theatre style meeting.
The Vicarage Freehouse and Rooms is the first hotel in a new grouping - Flat Cap Hotels. Launched by two brothers, Flat Cap Hotels is aiming to open up to five properties and is taking its inspiration from boutique hotel groups such as Home Grown Hotels’ PIG chain in the south of England.

Barton Grange Hotel in Preston has completed the second stage of its £500,000 refurbishment programme this month. It includes a full upgrade of four training suites, the main Barton Suite and 51 bedrooms. Plans to build the ‘Flower Bowl’ (pictured left) a new curling rink and leisure complex at its garden centre site have also been approved.
The Barton Suite at Barton Grange Hotel now includes feature lighting, a new audio/PA system and the latest technology. A new bar area is also planned for the Barton Suite which is scheduled to open at the end of 2015.
Improvements to bedrooms include décor upgrades, new mattresses, individual Sky TV boxes and free hi-speed fibre wi-fi plus Nespresso coffee machines in all the executive and superior rooms.
The Flower Bowl is the new £6million curling rink and leisure development at Barton Grange which has just received planning approved. The development will be alongside the Barton Grange Garden Centre a mile further north up the A6 from Barton Grange Hotel.
When the Flower Bowl is built it will be only the second curling rink in England. The project will feature an eco-friendly design and will include a cinema, a tenpin bowling venue, a diner-style restaurant and a coffee shop. There will also be a sports shop for customers to buy or hire kayaks for use on the nearby Lancaster Canal. Work onsite is expected to begin later this year with the development opening to the public in 2017.
