Hilton London Paddington will be opening 56 premium rooms in its new GWR Tower in January 2015. The exclusive wing will feature contemporary art-deco designed rooms with a separate relaxation and work area, a  40-46-inch flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities, a laptop safe and a bathroom with a with bath and a separate walk-in shower.

Guests will also have access to the Tower Lounge@Paddington, located on the top floor of the Tower, for the VIP treatment. It includes a personalised check-in and check-out, a cooked-to-order breakfast, light snacks throughout the day plus evening canapés and cocktails in the evening - all with complimentary wi-fi.

The team that produced the world’s first fully flat airline business class seat for British Airways has unveiled new-look bedrooms for Snoozebox, the operator of portable hotels.

The six-bedroom unit is designed to fit on a conventional-size lorry trailer for transportation to events where temporary accommodation is needed. As a result individual bedrooms measure just over 7.5 square metres. Each room has four bunk beds which can be converted to accommodate four singles, or a double and two singles or one king-size bed. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, basin and shower. The bathroom space has been designed as a wet room. During the day the Snoozebox hotel room convert to an air-conditioned living room with storage space, television and complimentary wi-fi.

Snoozebox was launched in 2011. Since then it has provided accommodation at major sporting events and festivals including Glastonbury, the British Grand Prix, the Edinburgh Festival and the Rugby World Cup.

Dakota Nottingham Hotel has just opened ‘The Wing’ – 180 sq-mt of new event space. The Wing is fully air-conditioned with plenty of natural daylight. Epic Apart Hotel and Serviced Apartments in Liverpool is converting a property in Duke Street in the city’s Ropewalks area into 17 serviced apartments and two mezzanine studios.

When complete the property in Duke Street will join the group’s other two properties: Epic Aparthotel in Seel Street and Epic Serviced Apartments in Campbell Street, both in central Liverpool.

Epic apartments include studios and one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Each includes a fully equipped kitchen plus an open plan lounge and bedroom. Wi-fi is complimentary throughout.

The property in Duke Street has been vacant since 1984. Epic Apart Hotel Duke Street  is scheduled to open March 2015.

Manchester HOME, the new cultural centre in Manchester’s First Street development will open to the public on 21 May 2015.

Manchester HOME merges the Cornerhouse and Library Theatre Company. It will include a 500-seat theatre; a 150-seat flexible studio space;  gallery space; five cinema screens; digital production and broadcast facilities; a café bar and restaurants. It will also incorporate one of the existing viaduct arches along Whitworth Street West.

HOME is located on the First Street North site, just off Whitworth Street West and a ten minute walk from Oxford Road Station. The 20 acre site will also include a 208-bedroom, 11-storey, four-star hotel which will be operated by Melia Hotels as an ‘Innside’ branded property – the first in the UK. The hotel will include a wellness suite, restaurant, bar and conference facilities.
