Celtic Football Club has just submitted full plans for a hotel and museum complex next to its Glasgow stadium.

The five-storey v-shaped building would be based in London Road, to the left of the ‘The Celtic Way’, close to the nearby Emirates Arena. The new hotel would replace the current ticket office and club superstore and would include around 200 bedrooms.

The hotel would also include a ground floor restaurant and bar with the shop, ticket office and museum entrance on the floor above. Parking would be limited to guests staying at the hotel on matchdays.

Celtic, the current Scottish Premiership champions, are hoping to secure final approval by autumn 2017.

Previous plans for a £44million hotel development on a site facing Celtic Park were shelved in 2013.
