Shiva Hotels has submitted plans to Westminster council to demolish Thirty Marylebone Lane, a prominent NCP car park in central London and build a luxury 206-bedroom hotel in its place.

The building is located at 74-77 Welbeck Street. It is also home to members club Sophisticats and a burger chain Meat Liquor.

The new nine-storey hotel, to be known as Marylebone Lane Hotel, will include a new ground floor restaurant plus a spa, swimming pool, café and club lounge.

Marylebone Lane Hotel should benefit from its location close to the new Crossrail/Tube interchange at Bond Street station.

Marylebone Lane Hotel will be operated by Shiva. They currently have a range of new hotels under development in central London including sites in Soho, Covent Garden, St Paul’s , Buckingham Gate and Holborn Viaduct.

Bardsley Construction has secured the contract to build a second AC Hotel by Marriott in Manchester.

The four-star hotel is being constructed on a former car park bounded by Mason Street and Cable Street in Ancoats, north of Manchester city centre.

With nine-storeys, the AC Hotel by Marriott will include 172 bedrooms, a gym, a café, a restaurant, a bar and conference facilities.

It is expected to open in early 2019.

AC Hotel by Marriott made its debut in the UK debut last year with openings in Salford Quays and in the centre of Birmingham.

J D Wetherspoon has just opened The Admiral Hotel in Hull with 22 bedrooms.

The Admiral has opened following a £2.5million development above The Admiral of the Humber pub.

The en-suite rooms include Freeview television, unlimited free wi-fi and digital temperature control plus tea and coffee facilities and an iron/ ironing board.

The Admiral of the Humber pub has also been fully refurbished and a new first floor roof terrace beer garden added.

The Admiral is located in Anlaby Road on the north shore of the Humber estuary. It is a short walk from Hull station.

The new hotel planned at the entrance to Birmingham Airport will be a Hilton Garden Inn.

Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham Airport will be modular-built in China, shipped to the UK and assembled on site. It will have 178 bedrooms and is set to open summer 2018

Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham Airport will be located on a greenfield site in Concorde Road, alongside the airport’s main administrative hub in Diamond House.

It will be the Birmingham Airport’s fifth hotel once completed.

Roomzzz aparthotels are set to expand into Scotland with a brand-new aparthotel confirmed within the £1billion Edinburgh St James development. It is scheduled to open in 2021.

Roomzzz Edinburgh will include 73 apartments ranging from smart studios to luxury penthouses.

Each apartment will feature a rooftop terrace and balcony with views across the Edinburgh skyline. Roomzzz apartments will feature fitted kitchens, a widescreen TV, complimentary wi-fi, free UK nationwide calls, an ultimate comfort bed, 24-hour concierge plus round the clock fresh coffee and grab-and-go breakfast.

The Edinburgh St James development will become a major retail hub in the city. It will include up to 86 new shops over four floors, 20 restaurants and an Everyman Cinema.

Roomzzz Edinburgh will be a three-minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station.
