Plans include a new 300-bedroom hotel at the entrance to Silverstone Park as well as sports and leisure facilities, an adrenaline centre plus student accommodation.

The application comes weeks after a wider outline masterplan was approved for the Silverstone site.

Permission was also granted last year for a £22million Silverstone Heritage Experience, showcasing the history of the circuit. Work will start on this during the autumn and is expected to finish in spring 2019.

The new additions will be located on the floor below.

The 19,000 sq-ft facility is aiming to become “Liverpool’s flagship wedding and events space”.

Signature Living plan to open a fine dining restaurant at the Cunard, along with a brasserie. There will also be a number of smaller rooms for private dining, cooking classes as well as meeting spaces.

Signature Living is aiming to open the new events facility at the Cunard Building before the end of this year.

Plans have been submitted to the city council to transform disused offices in Leicester city centre into a 67-bedroom hotel.

The offices are located on the third floor above the Haymarket Shopping Centre and they are currently unoccupied. According to the plans, a new entrance would be created off the Centre’s third floor car park.

The new hotel joins two other projects on the drawing board:

A 250-bedroom joint Novotel hotel and Adagio aparthotel is planned near Great Central Railway station in Leicester opposite the Highcross shopping centre.

Leicester Tigers are also planning a £22million, 165-bedroom hotel next to the club's Welford Road stadium.
