Harbour Hotels have just added The Ship Hotel in the centre of Chichester to their expanding portfolio of hotels and spas.

The Georgian-built, Grade II-listed Ship Hotel has 37 bedrooms with ‘Murrays’ the hotel restaurant. There are two meeting rooms at the rear of the hotel seating 40 and 20 delegates boardroom style.

The Ship Hotel has planning consent for a large extension including 25 additional bedrooms.

Harbour Hotels will now be operating thirteen hotels including new developments underway in Southampton, Salcombe, Brighton and Bristol.

Property developers, Bruntwood, have unveiled plans for new work and events space in Manchester. Work has already started on-site to redevelop the former Bank House, a 15-storey building on the corner of Portland Street and Charlotte Street in central Manchester

The £8million redevelopment is due for completion at the end of 2016. It will be called ‘neo’ deriving from the Greek word ‘neonate’ meaning a fresh, new, revived form.

Neo will contain co-working spaces, event spaces, private studios, a communal lounge and kitchen, a ground-floor digital art space plus a roof terrace with a weatherproof meeting pod.

Neo is a five minute walk from both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road stations.

Plans have been unveiled for a new £25million hotel and apartment scheme in the centre of York. The site is a former garage, now derelict, and an empty office in Piccadilly.

Plans would see the replacement of the existing properties, which cover more than half an acre, with two new buildings: a hotel and apartments.

The proposed development would also feature newly-created open space including courtyard gardens with new walkways, overlooking the River Foss and Clifford’s Tower.

The hotel would be created in conjunction with a major hotel operator.

Construction is expected to start next summer on the new 10,000-seater Stadium for Cornwall after the Government decided not to call in a planning application for the site at Langarth, near Truro.  

The £20million stadium will provide a home for rugby side, the Cornish Pirates, as well as other sporting facilities plus conference and event facilities.

Newbury Conference and Events based at Newbury Racecourse has revealed plans to build new events facility at the Berkshire racecourse.

The new Horseman’s Club will include a bar, restaurant and patio area and will accommodate up to 200 guests banquet style on non-race days.

Construction of the Horseman’s Club is due to start in February 2016 with completion expected in 2017.

The Horseman’s Suite is one component of a planned £20 million worth of improvements at Newbury Racecourse which will include new entrances, a new administration office as well as an update of the Berkshire Stand and Pall Mall building.

Newbury Racecourse also has outline planning permission for a 120-bedroom, four star hotel although there are no immediate plans to begin work on this project.
