Mayor of London has given final approval for phase two of the £200million redevelopment of Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John's Wood, north London.
This major project will see the existing Tavern and Allen stand demolished to make way for a new three-tier stand increasing capacity from 1,082 to 5,200 seats.
From a conference and banqueting viewpoint, a new Thomas Lord building with a street-facing reception will feature a banqueting suite as well as office space.
No construction work will begin on the project before autumn 2019, due to the need for Lord’s to be free of building works during the ICC Cricket World Cup being held summer 2019.
Lord’s already has a wide range of events facilities from small private dining rooms to the Nursery Pavilion, one of London’s largest venues accommodating up to 1000 delegates.
Demolition work began this September in preparation for the redevelopment of the Warner Stand - phase one of the Lord’s investment programme. The new stand is due to be completed in time for the 2017 season although it will open for major cricket matches during the 2016 season.

Ealing Council is inviting proposals to find new uses for part of its Town Hall building. The Council is looking for a development partner to help safeguard the future of the building, which internally, is in a poor state of repair.
Under consideration is a possible boutique hotel, a restaurant, a conference venue or just office space. The aim is to revitalise and protect the Grade II-listed building whilst saving the council millions of pounds in running costs.
Existing function rooms in Ealing Town Hall are ripe for refurbishment and extended use whilst parts of the building would continue to be used by the council for civic and community purposes.
