Robinson College at the University of Cambridge has just opened its brand new Crausaz Wordsworth Building with meeting and events space.
Facilities in the Crausaz Wordsworth Building include a fully air-conditioned, flat-floored Plenary Room with full length windows, loads of natural daylight and a three metre high ceiling. The Plenary Room is multi-functional space which will accommodate delegates in cabaret (72 delegates), classroom (80 delegates) or u-shape (64 delegates) styles.
The Plenary Room can also be used for exhibitions, poster sessions or as a dining area. It is fitted with very high specification audio visual equipment plus a full surround sound system - with an experienced AV technician on hand.
The Foyer is also light and airy and is equipped with background audio facilities and display screens for signage, Freeview television or for displaying content. It can be used for registration, tea and coffee breaks and for stand-up finger food or bowl food lunches.
Three syndicate rooms are located on the first floor of the Crausaz Wordsworth Building each accommodating up to 18 delegates boardroom style and each equipped with high specification audio visual equipment.
The Crausaz Wordsworth Building plus its gardens and terrace are available for private dining for up to 100 guests and drinks receptions for up to 225 guests.
A further 19 meeting rooms together with accommodation during vacation times can be found at the main Robinson College, a short walk away through the gardens.
Robinson College is one of the newest colleges in the University of Cambridge. It is located on the western outskirts of Cambridge with good access to the A14.

Plans have been submitted to construct a glass conference centre on the roof of the highly visible Fort Dunlop building overlooking the M6 motorway in Birmingham.
Plans include a proposed glass structure on the roof enabling users to make the most of the views. Plans also include new kitchens, outdoor seating and a landscaped area.
Fort Dunlop is now a mixed-use development but once formed part of the world’s largest factory, employing 10,000 workers. The conference centre proposals have been submitted to Birmingham City Council. Currently there is a Travelodge on a section of the Fort Dunlop site.

Plans to build a new £8.5million, 130-bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel on Blackpool’s South Promenade have been approved by local planners.
The hotel will also include a restaurant and bar, fitness facilities and a business hub.
The new hotel will be on the site of the now disused Palm Beach and Bourne Hotels. Construction work is expected to start autumn 2015. Hampton by Hilton Blackpool is scheduled to open spring 2017.

New owners of Grantley Hall, a Grade II-listed mansion in Yorkshire, are planning to convert the property into a luxury country house hotel and spa.
Grantley Hall which dates back to the 17th century is located five miles west of Ripon. It comprises 32,000 sq. ft. of internal floor space and sits in 30 acres of wooded parkland and grounds.
Future plans for Grantley Hall include luxury bedroom accommodation, a signature restaurant, a bistro restaurant and a cocktail bar.
Grantley Hall was built as a private residence in Georgian times. More recently it housed a convalescent home during the Second World War and after the war became an adult education residential college owned by North Yorkshire County Council.

After more than a decade in the planning, construction work is expected to begin in the early New Year on a new £60million 300-bedroom hotel on a 21-acre riverside site at Kinfauns near Perth in Scotland.
The hotel at Kinfauns will be located just off the A85 Perth-Dundee road, three miles from Perth and overlooking the River Tay.
The hotel is also expected to incorporate major conference and exhibition space, restaurants and bars as well as a health club and spa and a theatre.
If all goes to plan the hotel should be opening mid-2017.
