Pop Brixton is new event space which has just opened in London's Brixton. Pop Brixton is a ‘box-park’ constructed from recycled shipping containers. It will host some of the community’s independent start-ups across food and drink, retail, creative industries and the arts. It features a 200-delegate event space plus studios, shops and restaurants.

Pop Brixton is a cool and trendy development designed to highlight Brixton’s reputation as a stimulating, exciting and creative place as well as providing employment opportunities for local residents.

Pop Brixton is located in Brixton Station Road, a one minute walk from Brixton Station with trains into London Victoria; and a two minute walk from Brixton tube station.

Harbour Hotels have unveiled plans to open a hotel in Brighton. The group has acquired a landmark 1850’s period building on Brighton’s seafront just minutes from Brighton Pier. They plan to convert it into the Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa with 77 bedrooms and featuring their signature 'Jetty' restaurant and Champagne bar, a Spa and a rooftop pool.

Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa is due to open in summer 2016.

Harbour Hotels have five hotels along England’s south and south-west coastline including: St Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa, Salcombe Harbour Hotel & Spa,  Sidmouth Harbour Hotel plus two in Christchurch: Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa and the Kings Arms.

The group is also planning to open a five star Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa at Ocean Village in 2017.

The 400-year Hensol Castle at the Vale Resort on the outskirts of Cardiff has reopened as a conference venue following completion of a £10million revamp to restore it to its former glory.

Meeting facilities at Hensol Castle now include the new purpose-built Courtyard Hall, accommodating between 200 and 320 delegates. Five smaller rooms will complement the main hall seating between 10 and 100 delegates. The Courtyard Hall has been designed to be energy efficient with heat-retaining and heat-reflective glass, low energy lighting and a natural grass and wildflower roof.

Hensol Castle will be available for exclusive use.

A second phase of the investment will include the addition of 30 bedrooms and a restaurant, both of which are expected to open late 2016.

The Vale Resort itself has also invested £1 million in upgrading its 143-bedrooms installing new bathrooms and upgrading soft furnishings.

Hensol Castle, which has been used in the past as a stage set for Sherlock, Doctor Who and Torchwood, is a former stately home. It is located six miles from Cardiff city centre and three minutes off junction 34 of the M4. It is set within landscaped gardens and has a 15-acre lake and serpentine pond.

Plans for a new Wales International Conference Centre (WICC) at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport are set to move a step closer. A report to be considered by Newport City Council's planning committee on 4 June 2015 has recommended that the plans be approved, subject to conditions.

Wales International Conference Centre will be the largest of its kind in Wales or the south west of England. The 20,000 sq-mt site will have the potential to accommodate up to 3,000 delegates. It will be located within the Celtic Manor Resort complex.
The main auditorium will accommodate up to 1,500 delegates with the flexibility to divide into smaller spaces.
A 4,000 sq-mt Exhibition Hall will accommodate up to 2,000 guests for a gala dinner.
15 additional meeting rooms, with the largest seating 500 delegates theatre style, will each be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and fully integrated audio visual facilities.
There will be green-rooms and production offices plus a multi-storey car park with 700 spaces.

Celtic Manor Resort is located next to junction 24 of the M4 and four miles from Newport city centre.

The City Tower in the centre of Manchester is to undergo a major refurbishment of its ground floor and reception areas. The work will also include a new business lounge and meeting space as well as additional catering facilities.

The ‘Red Rooms’ are the existing meeting facilities at City Tower. These are located on the 24th floor with views across the city and beyond. They can accommodate up to 150 delegates for small to medium conferences, training sessions, and board meetings.

The meeting rooms are equipped with the latest video conferencing, wi-fi and AV equipment.  Each room can be booked for one hour upwards and they come with complimentary refreshments and delegate stationery. Catering options includes a choice of breakfasts, cold buffets and hot food.

The refurbishment is expected to take around six months to complete.

City Tower is located in Piccadilly Gardens, a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly station.
