Ramside Hall Hotel near Durham has recently opened its new wing with 47 premier bedrooms. The hotel has also totally refurbished its residents lounge and its main reception area. Both are part of an overall £16million development at the hotel which completes this summer with the opening of a new spa.

The Spa at Ramside will includes a 25m pool, a vitality pool, external infinity pool and a spa garden along with a variety of steam rooms, saunas and a Rasul mud chamber. It will also include a gym, an aerobics and dance studio, a hair salon, an Asian restaurant and bar and 14 treatment rooms.

Ramside Hall Hotel now has 130 bedrooms and a range of meeting and conference rooms accommodating from 30 to 500 delegates plus a marquee that is erected throughout the summer months seating up to 200 guests. The hotel has two 18-hole championship golf courses in its grounds.

Ramside Hall Hotel is situated in County Durham few miles from the centre of Durham City and just off the A1.

bis Styles Leeds Merion Centre is a new 134 bedroom hotel scheduled to open in the centre of Leeds in 2016.

Ibis Styles hotels are located in the heart of cities and in other major towns. Plans for a new 200-bedroom hotel and country club near Hazlehead Park in Aberdeen have been granted conditional planning approval by Aberdeen City Council.

The new hotel, on green-belt land, will also include a spa, a swimming pool, banqueting and conference facilities, restaurants and an equestrian centre. The five-star hotel will complement the existing recreational facilities within Hazlehead Park which include Hayfield Riding Centre.

Hazlehead Park covers around 180 hectares of land on the outskirts of Aberdeen. It is a heavily wooded area popular with sports enthusiasts, walkers, naturalists and picnickers.

The planned £40 million development is being promoted by local developers, Carlton Rock.


Days Hotel Derby located near Derbyshire County Cricket Club is set to be rebranded as the Mercure Derby hotel by the end of this year. The 100 bedroom hotel will be refurbished by its new operator.

The hotel currently has a range of bedrooms including business-class rooms. The hotel has a restaurant and bar and there is a fitness centre adjacent.

Mercure Derby is located at the Pentagon Roundabout close the junction of the A52 and A61 to the east of Derby and close to Pride Park.


The opening date for the new Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel has been confirmed for 1st July 2015.

Gainsborough Bath Spa is housed in a collection of three Grade-listed buildings in the heart of the city. Part of the building was a former hospital where the thermal waters were used for their healing properties. Gainsborough Bath Spa is claiming to have the only natural thermal spa within a hotel in the United Kingdom.

Gainsborough Bath Spa will feature 99 contemporary bedrooms furnished to a five star standard with luxurious bedding and generous wardrobe space. Each room and suite will also feature an iPod docking station, a flat screen HD television, a Roberts radio with Bluetooth connectivity, complimentary wi-fi and radiant heated bathroom floors.

The 1,300 square metre spa will include natural thermal water pools, an ice chamber, a sauna and steam room, a movement studio, a fitness centre and 11 treatment rooms.

Johann Lafer, German-based Michelin starred chef, will be running the hotel's ‘Johann Lafer at the Gainsborough’ restaurant.

The Chapel (pictured) and the Somerset Room will be the main event spaces at Gainsborough Bath Spa.  Both rooms will seat up to 96 delegates theatre style and will be equipped with the latest audio visual capabilities. The Chapel also features direct access to an outdoor terrace which will accommodate a further 60 people. The entire hotel and its facilities have the potential for exclusive use.

Gainsborough Bath Spa will be a member of sales and marketing consortium, Leading Hotels of the World.
