Manufacturing company JCB has started work on a scheme to create a £30m championship golf course in 240 acres of countryside to the south of the company's world headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire.

At the heart of the golf development is Woodseat Hall, an 18th century mansion which is currently derelict. It will be renovated as the course clubhouse, with a new spa, leisure facility and five-star hotel-style accommodation.

The new development is designed to support JCB's growth plans and to build a stronger awareness of the JCB brand around the world. Completion of the project is expected in 2018.

The Centre at Birchwood Park in Warrington has opened a new ground floor meeting room. The Oak Suite will accommodate up to 14 delegates boardroom style and is equipped with teleconferencing, an 80" television screen, free fast wi-fi, a dedicated entrance and free car parking.

The Oak Suite is one of eight conference and meeting suites at the Centre at Birchwood Park which also includes a main auditorium catering for up to 150 delegates. Midlands Technology Centre is a brand new high-spec conference centre based in Wolverhampton. It comprises a large main hall to seat up to 300 delegates theatre style plus 14 additional meeting and training room ranging in size from rooms to seat eight delegates boardroom style up to rooms accommodating 120 delegates theatre style.  All rooms are furnished with interactive whiteboards, projectors and plasmas.
