The Roxburghe Hotel in Edinburgh, currently flying the Crowne Plaza flag, will be switching brands with effect from 15 January 2015 when the hotel will be operated by the Principal Hayley group.

The Roxburghe is a 198 bedroom four-star hotel which has recently completed a total refurbishment. It overlooks Charlotte Square in the Scottish capital and is a short walk from Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle and Edinburgh Waverley Station.

The Roxburghe will join two other Scottish hotels in the Principal Hayley Group - the George Hotel also in Edinburgh and the Grand Central alongside Glasgow Central Station.

Kersewell is a new 18-hole golf course and five-star hotel complex planned for a 500 acre site on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The 240-bedroom hotel will include leisure and spa facilities plus extensive conference and banqueting space.

The first phase of the development, envisaged to take 36 months to completion, will also include 250 lakeside holiday chalets.

The Kersewell Estate is 16 miles south of Edinburgh Airport.

Dolphin SA1 is a new 65-bedroom boutique hotel opening shortly in the centre of Swansea. The hotel is on the site of the former Dolphin Hotel which closed its doors four and a half years ago.

Dolphin SA1 will be opening floor by floor with 40 rooms on the second floor opening very shortly. Each room will be finished to a high standard with the latest in-room facilities including free wi-fi.

There will be a further 25 rooms on the third floor. Plans for the first floor await publication. There is currently a cafe on the ground floor and this will be incorporated into the hotel reception.

Dolphin SA1 is located in the heart of city centre Swansea and easily accessible from the M4 at junction 42.

Apex European Hotel changed its name with effect from 1st September 2014 to become Apex Haymarket Hotel, but the contents remain the same - 66 bedrooms each with an LCD television with CD/DVD player, DVD lending library, hairdryer, an iron and ironing board plus free wi-fi. The hotel has three flexible meeting and event spaces accommodating a maximum of 80 delegates theatre style plus Metro Bar and Restaurant.

Apex Haymarket Hotel is 200 metres from Edinburgh Haymarket station and 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.

Whitworth Art Gallery reopens in Manchester in autumn 2014. The Gallery, part of the University of Manchester, has almost completed a £15 million redevelopment which has totally transformed the 125-year-old Whitworth. The development will double its public space with new state-of- the-art facilities including expanded gallery spaces and a new Art Garden.

Whitworth Art Gallery is set in a historic park and houses an internationally important fine art, textile and wallpaper collection.

Whitworth Art Gallery will be available to hire for events. They will suit small lunches, talks, presentations, dinners, drinks receptions and networking events - ideally events held outside normal opening hours.

Whitworth Art Gallery is located in Whitworth Park, opposite Manchester Royal Infirmary and about 1.5 miles south of Manchester city centre.
