Twickenham Experience is planning new event facilities at the home of English rugby following a major overhaul of Twickenham Stadium’s East Stand.  

The East Stand development will include five levels of meeting and events space for receptions, parties and dining, including a new rooftop Rose Garden which will have a built-in stage for live music performances. 

The East Stand will feature ‘The Lock’ on Level Three -  a space, with pitch views, suited to conferences, meetings, dinners and receptions.

Informal drinks receptions and dining options will be available in The Gate and Ale House situated on Level One.

Work first began on Twickenham’s East Stand 2016. A re-opening is expected by autumn 2018.

Construction work on a £3.25million project to create a 36-bedroom extension at DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Sheffield has just been completed.

A new three storey block constructed at the far end of the car park near the entrance to DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park houses the additional 36 bedrooms.

The new rooms are connected to the existing building at each floor level via a glazed link.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park now has 131 bedrooms plus The Piano Bar and Restaurant, lounges, a health club, beauty spa and a swimming pool.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park has nine flexible meeting rooms. The Devonshire Suite is the largest accommodating up to 500 delegates. Wi-fi is complimentary throughout the hotel.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park is located in Chesterfield Road South, around four miles from the centre of Sheffield.

Malmaison Leeds has just launched the group’s Work + Play meeting and events concept.

Malmaison Leeds is the fourth Malmaison to open a Work + Play outlet, following in the footsteps of Malmaison Manchester, Malmaison Birmingham and Malmaison Brighton.  

Work + Play at Malmaison Leeds comprises four air-conditioned meeting rooms and two soundproof glass pods that can each be used individually or merged for larger events. The luxury, five-star Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London has just unveiled the first phase of its extensive restoration, designed to establish the historic hotel’s position as one of the best in the world.

The hotel has remained open throughout the renovation which will be completed in the third quarter of 2018.

The first phase of the renovation has included the launch of 95 new and luxurious guest rooms and suites in the Knightsbridge wing.

In addition, the hotel’s classic entrance, main lobby and reception lounge have been reconfigured and redesigned to maximise natural daylight.

The building’s façade has also been revitalised.Internationally designer, Joyce Wang has been commissioned to oversee the property’s overall design concept. She has taken her inspiration from the hotel’s Edwardian heritage.

The new £35million, 177-bedroom Apex Hotel Bath which opened during the summer has agreed a season-long official hotel partnership with Bath Rugby.

The sponsorship deal will help establish the presence of Apex Hotel Bath in the city.

Under the partnership the Apex City of Bath Hotel on St James Street West will be the recognised provider of accommodation to both Bath Rugby fans and away supporters – and it is just a short walk to The Rec for Bath Rugby’s home matches.
