American-based, Dream Hotel Group, has announced plans to open the first of its new boutique brand -  Unscripted Hotels – in Birmingham.

Unscripted Birmingham Central Hall will open in the former Methodist Central Hall, a three storey, red-brick, Grade II-listed building in Corporation Street in central Birmingham.

Unscripted Birmingham Central Hall will feature 135 bedrooms plus five dining and nightlife venues, including a rooftop lounge on the third floor and two restaurants at street level.

Unscripted Birmingham Central Hall is set to open in 2020.

Architects will shortly start work drawing up redevelopment plans for a site which is the current home of the Renaissance Hotel in the centre of Manchester. 

As well as the 203-bedroom Renaissance Manchester hotel, the site also includes office accommodation and a multi-storey car park.

Marriott has a management agreement to operate the Renaissance Hotel until the end of 2019.

Glenn Howell Architects are now working up future plans for the site; a prime site at the Cathedral-end of Deansgate in Manchester city centre.

A planning application for the development is expected to be submitted next year and is likely to include a new 5-star hotel plus residential, retail and leisure outlets.

The Garden Museum, formerly known as the Museum of Garden History, has reopened in central London following an 18-month redevelopment project.

It is Britain's only museum of the art, history and design of gardens. It also has meeting and events space.

The Garden Museum is located in the Victorian-built church of St Mary-at-Lambeth, adjacent to Lambeth Palace on the south bank of the River Thames overlooking the Houses of Parliament.

Events space is located in the Nave of the church and in the new Sackler Garden extension.

The Nave can be used in conjunction with the venue’s Learning Space for events including dinners, receptions, product launches, exhibitions, screenings and fashion shows. It can also be used together with the Sackler Garden for receptions up to 250 guestsand dinners for up to 120.

The Garden Museum is a ten-minute walk from Vauxhall, Waterloo and Victoria stations.
