Crumlin Road Courthouse in Belfast has been acquired by the Signature Living Group. They now plan to invest £25million to transform it into a luxury hotel.

Crumlin Road Courthouse was designed by Charles Lanyon and built in 1850. Planning permission was granted in 2006 to turn the Grade B-listed building into a 161-bedroom hotel but these plans never materialised. Since then the building has been lying derelict.

Last month Signature Living confirmed plans to bring a George Best-themed hotel to Belfast.
