The Mercure London Hyde Park hotel has just opened in central London with 72 bedrooms. 

The hotel, formerly the Quality Hotel, is a classic London Town House overlooking a garden square, a two minute walk from Lancaster Gate and Paddington Station.

Bedrooms at Mercure London Hyde Park have been refurbished in a contemporary style with all the modern facilities which now come as standard including free wi-fi, air-conditioning and a flat screen television - plus facilities which are not standard such as bedroom windows which open.

The restaurant at Mercure London Hyde Park serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a fitness centre for guests plus Hyde Park on the doorstep.

Aparthotel operator, Roomzzz, has been granted planning permission to open a 97-unit aparthotel in the city of York. It is expected to open summer 2018.

Construction will start on the proposed four-storey hotel next year.

Roomzzz York will be located in Terry Avenue on the York waterfront.

Marriott Hotels have published plans to open two new hotels in Slough.

The hotels, a 144-bedroom boutique-style Moxy Hotel and a 92 bedroom extended-stay Residence Inn, will both share the site of a former library in the centre of Slough.

The site will include a ground floor restaurant and bar.

The Moxy Hotel and Residence Inn will act as a major trigger for the regeneration of central Slough.

The hotels are expected to open in time for the launch of Crossrail in 2019.

A 1st December 2016 opening date is promised for the first floating pop-up hotel in London. 

The 148-bedroom Good Hotel has travelled across from Amsterdam and will be berthed in London’s Royal Victoria Dock for the next five years.

The purpose of the Good Hotel is to extensively train long-term unemployed locals in various jobs in the hospitality industry. After concluding the ‘Good Training’, participants will be offered a three-month contract at Good Hotel. The entire process is designed to give participants a real chance to get off welfare and get a new future.

The design of the Good Hotel is described as a ‘pure industrial style’.

The bedrooms range from 13 sq-mt to 30 sq-mt. Standard rooms come with a twin or double bed. Deluxe and Corner rooms have a king-size bed.

Amenities include an en-suite bathroom, in-room safe, coffee/tea facilities, a small writing desk and free wi-fi. Water views are optional in the Standard rooms but obligatory in the Deluxe and Corner rooms.

The Living Room is where the food and drinks are served. It is open all day, every day.

The Rooftop is a green and open space with a terrace and bar overlooking London, Canary Wharf and the River Thames.

The four meeting rooms range from S to XL. All offer natural daylight with views over the river and a day delegate package. XL includes an in-room pantry and will accommodate up to 50 delegates classroom style. The Living Room hosts up to 120 guests for cocktails.

Good Hotel offers free wi-fi everywhere, 24-hour front desk and concierge services, bike rental and free iPads for guests' use. 

Good Hotel is located on the water in the Royal Victoria Docks with direct travel links to central London and cable-car access to Greenwich and the O2 Arena. London City Airport, ExCeL London Exhibition Centre and The Crystal business hub are close by.

Water-based activities include sailing, rowing and canoeing.

The Montcalm Royal London House - City of London has just opened with 253 bedrooms in Finsbury Square - in a converted mid-20th century former office building, a short walk from Liverpool Street station in central London.

Interior designers have maintained the building’s features, with copper pipe lighting and exposed brick walls mixed with original reclaimed parquet flooring and feature staircases.

Bedrooms include 18 junior suites, 14 master suites and nine studio suites with kitchenettes designed for the long-stay guest. The suites, some with private balconies, overlook the Shard and other City of London landmarks.

All bedrooms have iPod docking stations and a Smart 55” TV.

As well as complimentary high speed wi-fi, Montcalm Royal London House - City of London also claims to be the first hotel in the UK to offer 10GB bandwidth capacity on demand, ensuring its agility to cope with peaks in network usage for meetings and events.

Montcalm Royal London House - City of London has two restaurants and two bars. The ground-floor ‘Burdock’ features a juice bar, lounge area and restaurant designed for breakfast meetings and networking, as well as business lunches, after work drinks and dinner.
