Lord’s Cricket Ground has completed its recent £3.8million investment.

In the process it has created two new event spaces that can accommodate up to 100 people in the Grand Stand.

The refurbished Grand Stand opened on 11 April just ahead of the start of the 2016 cricket season.

The Grand Stand has a mezzanine level, called the Father Time Gallery. This can be used in conjunction with the suite either as a breakout space or for refreshments.

Alternatively it can be used for networking events and drinks receptions for up to 100 people.

The new President’s Box is available for a dinner and will accommodate up to 48 guests.

A revamping of the kitchens and washroom facilities has also been part of the overall investment.

Lords Cricket Ground is located in St John’s Wood in London, a mile and half north of Marble Arch.

The Culpepper pub in Spitalfields, east London has opened five new bedrooms.

The Culpepper opened two years ago as a traditional English pub featuring an industrial-chic styling with a restaurant on the first floor.

The new bedrooms are located on the second floor and follow a similar aesthetic to the rest of the building. They are well furnished, en-suite, with all the essential ingredients of a modern city centre hotel bedroom.

The rooms have been created with the intention of being a ‘place to crash following a meal, for the weekend, or a week on business.’ Bedrooms room rates are reasonably priced and include breakfast.

On the third Floor the Culpepper has a rooftop garden with a woodfired grill, plus a greenhouse dining room and bar. The rooftop will be re-opening shortly for summer 2016.

You will find the Culpepper in Comercial Street opposite Petticoat Lane, a short walk from Algate East tube station.

The building which housed the former headquarters of Durham County Council is to be converted into an 81-bedroom Hotel Indigo.

The Grade II-listed Old Shire Hall in Durham city centre will become a Hotel Indigo and will include a 150-cover Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill.

Built in 1896, Old Shire Hall is regarded as a fine example of late Victorian architecture. Period features in the building such as tiled marble staircases, wood panelling and stained glass windows will be retained. The circular debating chamber and lobby room will also remain, as the new restaurant and a cocktail bar.

Hotel Indigo Durham is scheduled to open in the autumn of 2017.
