Best Western Cresta Court hotel in Altrincham, south Manchester, has just completed the refurbishment of its 14 executive bedrooms. Seven new executive bedrooms will follow next month. 

The work is part of the second phase of a £1.5 million investment programme in the hotel that started 18 months ago with upgrades to the main bedrooms, bar and reception area. 

The executive bedrooms now have a contemporary décor and feature an area with lounge seating. The rooms are furnished with a king size bed, a 40” flat screen television, free superfast wi-fi and a hospitality tray complete with a coffee machine and speciality teas.  Bathrooms include bath robes and slippers plus upgraded complimentary toiletries.

Best Western Cresta Court is planning to complete the last elements of its meeting room refit this year, with new carpeting. Plans are also underway to redevelop the hotel’s main restaurant.

Best Western Cresta Court is strategically located, a couple of miles from the  centre of Manchester and a ten minutes’ drive from both Manchester International Airport and the main north-west motorway network.

A former laundry in east London has been refurbished and is now available as The Laundry - a new exclusive event space.

Fitted with state of the art AV equipment and consisting of various rooms and sections, The Laundry is ready to hire for a variety of activities.

The Laundry features ‘raw exposed architecture’ and is fitted with state of the art AV. The space comprises one main area accommodating up to 720 people standing. The

Laundry includes a green room, a cloakroom, toilets, a large bar and a smoking area. There is a kitchen which will service the event space and another cafe space with a courtyard also available to hire.

The Laundry is a flexible and diverse space and can be used for product launches, drink receptions, press days, Christmas parties, experiential activity, private parties, after-parties and exhibitions.

New owners of the Carfax Hotel in Bath have announced plans to redevelop the Grade 1-listed property which was previously owned and run by the Salvation Army.

It will be converted into a luxury boutique hotel and will join two other hotel in Bath which are in the same group - the 60-bedroom Abbey hotel and the 20-bedroom Villa Magdala.

The new hotel will include 40 individually styled bedrooms, a restaurant and bar. It is expected to reopen summer 2016 with a new, as yet undisclosed, name.

It is located in Great Pulteney Street, one of Bath’s grand thoroughfares.


Chessington World of Adventure have partnered with treetop adventure company Go Ape and will be opening a Go Ape high rope course in May 2016.

Chessington World of Adventure has a range of conference suites featuring six modern meeting rooms, however it is the variety of team-building options which are Chessington’s USP.

Go Ape will join a range of indoor and outdoor teambuilding activities from treasure hunts to the ‘Explorer Team Building Day’. Go Ape will add a range of zip-wire rides, Tarzan swings and forest segways.

Meeting rooms at Chessington World of Adventure will accommodate up to 300 delegates and include wi-fi, LCD screens, projectors and free car parking. There are two hotels on site:  Chessington Azteca Hotel and Chessington Safari Hotel.

Chessington World of Adventure is located between Epsom and Kingston-on-Thames just off the A3 in Surrey. It is 20km from London and a short drive from London Heathrow Airport.

University of Birmingham is planning to open a new hotel and conference centre on its campus in Edgbaston.

The new hotel will have 172 bedrooms and will be located on the site of the existing conference park. It will be named: Hornton Grange Hotel and Conference Centre

All the facilities will be available for hire for business events and conferences. Summer 2018 is the anticipated opening date.

Capacity-wise for a meeting or conference, Hornton Grange Hotel and Conference Centre will seat between 20 and 200 delegates. The centre will include its own restaurant and bar.

Hornton Grange Hotel and Conference Centre is part of a £300million overhaul of Birmingham University’s facilities on its Edgbaston campus. The project has also included a new £55million sports centre.

The new conference facilities will enable Birmingham University to compete for major academic conferences which up until now have gone outside the region.
