Plans for a new hotel in central Manchester on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street have been revived. A previous scheme was abandoned in 2008, a victim of the recession.

The revised scheme will consist of a four-star hotel with ground floor retail and restaurants, 240 flats and a landscaped public square. The scheme is expected to be submitted for planning approval later this autumn.

The site is midway between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road stations and an approximate five minute walk to each.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced its fourth property in Europe with Rosewood Edinburgh, scheduled to open in 2018.  The hotel will be housed in the former Royal High School, a historic, landmark building on Calton Hill in the centre of Edinburgh.

The neoclassical building and former Royal High School dates back to 1829. The listed building, which has lain vacant now for nearly 50 years, will be fully restored and will open as the Rosewood Edinburgh.

Rosewood Edinburgh will include 147 guestrooms and suites, many with panoramic views across the city of Edinburgh. Amenities will include three restaurants and bars, a spa, a fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool. Event and meeting space will include a 3,200 square-foot ballroom.

Arsenal Meetings and Events have launched The Hub, a new indoor multi-purpose sport and activity facility at the Emirates Stadium in North London. It is available for use by the events industry.
