Apartel Burnley is a planned 134 one-bedroom suites aparthotel in Burnley’s On the Banks regeneration scheme.
Each suite at Apartel Burnley will be equipped with a double bed, a kitchen area with workspace and a washer dryer, a smart television and Lutron lighting with iPhone controls. Apartel Burnley is designed to work as a business commuter crash pad or as an alternative to the budget hotel chains.
Apartel Burnley will have a 24-hour concierge service, 60 free parking spaces, a communal gym fitted with the latest Technogym equipment, a Costa coffee shop and an outdoor amphitheatre and seating area.
Apartments will be rented flexibly for any period of time from a single night to a 12-month term.
On the Banks is one of the largest heritage-led regeneration schemes currently underway in the UK. The £100million project is transforming historical buildings along the banks of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal which date back to the days when Burnley was leading the world in cotton manufacture at the height of the industrial revolution. A new vibrant and unique ‘destination’ for business, living, leisure and education is the planned end result.

Owners of Barton Grange Hotel just north of Preston have submitted plans to develop a £6million leisure development at their Barton Grange Garden Centre site. The development would feature a four-ice sheet curling rink, a cinema, a ten pin bowling facility plus indoor and outdoor crazy golf courses. There would also be a kayak shop selling and renting boats for use on the neighbouring Lancaster Canal.
Barton Grange Garden Centre was situated alongside Barton Grange Hotel until recently. It is now housed on its own stand-alone site around a mile north of the hotel on the A6.
If planning permission is granted, work will likely begin in late 2015 with the hope of opening in summer 2017.
