The Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (BCEC), owned and operated by Cairn Group had its soft launch this week ahead of its 3rd November official opening.

The Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (BCEC) is located in Hill Street and encompasses 2000 sq-mt of flexible space over two floors designed for conferences and events - both corporate and private.

The BCEC includes 20 conference rooms accommodating up to 1,450 delegates in total. The largest suite, the Mercian Suite, will accommodate up to 1,000 delegates or 750 for a dinner. Six banqueting suites will seat between 30 and 750 guests

The meeting space is fully equipped with the latest AV technology.

The BCEC virtually overlooks Birmingham New Street Station in the city centre. It is connected via a covered glass walkway to the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre also operated by the Cairn Group.

The Radisson Blu Hotel Edinburgh has now completed a £12million refurbishment. This has included the addition of a new Melrose Spa and Health Club.

The urban spa offers a fitness centre, sauna, steamroom, indoor heated swimming pool, three treatment rooms plus a dedicated nail bar.

Radisson Blu Hotel Edinburgh is located on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile a short walk to city centre attractions and transport links.

Radisson Blu Hotel Edinburgh has 238 modern, stylish bedrooms and suites, two on-site restaurants and eight meeting and events spaces accommodating up to 240 delegates.

Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales, has just acquired Castle House, a five-bedroom property in Caerleon just outside Newport.

Castle House is an historic property with links to King Arthur. It is set in 3.5 acres of gardens and includes seven reception rooms and an outdoor swimming pool.

Celtic Manor intend to refurbish Castle House and use it as an exclusive executive retreat as well as a wedding venue.

Castle House joins four very individual hotels and ten Hunter Lodges in the Celtic Manor Resort camp. The group also operates three championship golf courses, a golf academy, two health spas and fitness clubs plus a range of restaurants.

Looking to the future, work on the new £80million Wales International Convention Centre - a joint venture partnership between Celtic Manor and the Welsh Government is due to start this autumn.

The project, which will add to Celtic Manor’s existing conference facilities, will accommodate up to 5,000 delegates with a total floor space exceeding 20,000 square metres. 2019 is the expected opening date for the Wales International Convention Centre.

Elm Grove is a new, purpose-built conference centre which has just opened at Roehampton Venues on the western outskirts of London.

Elm Grove is sited on the parkland campus of the University of Roehampton near Richmond Park.

Facilities at Elm Grove include a main conference space seating up to 120 delegates theatre-style with the capability to divide into three separate rooms. There are a further two boardrooms seating up to 10 delegates.

The state-of-the-art AV system is controlled from keypad touch for added flexibility. An inbuilt sound system with microphones is also included.

The fourth floor Lime Tree Suite includes a terrace with views across the grounds towards central London. This can be used as additional meeting space or for an exhibition, for dining or for networking.

Elm Grove includes 32 stylish bedrooms available throughout the year. During the summer a further 300 bedrooms are also available on campus.

Roehampton Venues is twenty minutes from central London by bus and underground. The campus is within easy reach of both London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports as well as the M25 motorway. There is plenty of on-site parking.

Construction work is set to begin this month on the new 159-bedroom DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Hull. It is being built on the site of a former nightclub in Ferensway in the centre of Hull.

Hotel details are sketchy but Doubletree by Hilton Hull is expected to incorporate extensive conference and banqueting facilities for up to 750 delegates.
