London Hotel Group has been given the go-ahead to develop a new 221-bedroom aparthotel in south west London.

The site, a vacant half-acre brownfield site on Tooting High Street, had previously received planning permission for a residential scheme.

The new aparthotel will also include a cafe, restaurant and a landscaped courtyard.

London Hotel Group is planning a four-star rated unit which will be operated by a well-known international hotel brand.

Development is expected to begin late summer 2018 with an opening scheduled for August 2020.

Heckfield Place has confirmed its official opening date as 1st September 2018.

The 18th-century palatial Georgian manor house and farm, set in 400 acres of Hampshire countryside, was supposed to open as a luxury hotel and country retreat in time for the London Olympics back in January 2012 -  but it got delayed.

Heckfield Place was a private house until the 1980’s when it was converted into a conference and training centre.

The estate has now been undergoing major refurbishment since 2009. It will finally open with 47 bedrooms spread around the various wings and courtyards of the house.

Heckfield Place will also feature an underground, 67 velvet-seated cinema.

The first Radisson RED hotel in the UK has just opened in Glasgow.  

Radisson RED is the group’s lifestyle brand.

Radisson RED Glasgow is a ten-storey building on the banks of the River Clyde. The hotel has 174 bedrooms including 16 corner suites. All rooms are fully equipped with the latest in-room technology and home comforts.

The bedrooms also feature wallpaper designed by Glasgow comic artist, Frank Quitely, best known for his work on Superman, Batman and the X-Men comics.

Radisson RED Glasgow includes OUIBar+KTCHN, a rooftop RED Sky Bar overlooking the River Clyde and a RED Fitness Centre.

Funding is in place and development is expected to start this spring to create a new Malmaison Hotel in the centre of York.

The new Malmaison will occupy a redeveloped 1960s landmark building previously known as Yorkshire House in Rougier Street.

Malmaison York will comprise 150 bedrooms and will feature a new rooftop 'sky bar' with views over York. 

Project completion is scheduled for the second or third quarter of 2019.
