Plans for the £400million redevelopment of the former BBC Television Centre in west London have been approved by the London Mayor. Construction on the mixed use development is expected to start in April. BBC Television Centre was home to the BBC for half a century and is a grade-listed building. The original features of the building, including the famous ‘doughnut’, will be retained.
When completed in 2017, the 14-acre site will host a Soho House club, 950 apartments and townhouses, offices, a hotel, shops and restaurants; all in addition to the BBC Studios and its post-production team.
