The London-based event space specialist, CCT Venues, is opening a new venue at CCT Venues-South Quay.
CCT’s existing meeting space at South Quay will close at the end of June and will be immediately replaced by a new venue on a different larger floor of the same building, allowing business continuity. The new enhanced venue will operate under the CCT Venues Plus brand.

CCT Venues Plus-South Quay, Canary Wharf will be open for business in July 2014. It will include the following features:
•    Two interconnecting conference suites: the new 'Sugar Suite’ plus the new larger ‘Spice Suite’ with capacity for 400 delegates
•    Conference suites with adjacent lounge and exhibition areas
•    Suite of seven sound proofed interview/syndicate rooms in a central cluster
•    Four new interview/syndicate rooms
•    16 conference and training rooms
•    A waterfront restaurant with seating for 200
•    Floor to ceiling windows in all conference and meeting rooms

CCT Venues Plus-South Quay, Canary Wharf is steps away from South Quay DLR station and a short walk from Canary Wharf Jubilee line underground.

Manchester-based Blue Rainbow Aparthotels, with two aparthotels in Manchester and one in Edinburgh, is planning to invest £27million in its portfolio and launch two new brands – Cityspace and Citycube Hotels.
The group's two Manchester aparthotels include Manchester Central just off Deansgate with 79 apartments over nine floors and Manchester High Street close to the Printworks with 19 one and two bedroom apartments. Blue Rainbow Aparthotel Edinburgh is in a 200-year-old former museum building just off Princes Street.

Cityspace Aparthotels will build on the existing Blue Rainbow model whilst Citycube Hotel sites will allow the group to compete in the budget hotel market.
Blue Rainbow Aparthotels include a 24 hour-staffed reception desk, resident gym facility and laundry and a fully equipped kitchen. Although designed for long-term stays, Blue Rainbow Aparthotels will accept stays from one night.

Blue Rainbow Group is looking at additional sites in Manchester as well as Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Birmingham.

Chateau Impney, the chateau-styled hotel in Droitwich, Worcestershire is looking to appoint a ‘Food Taster in Residence' -  a dedicated foodie to fill what will be the first position of its kind in the UK.
Chateau Impney are not looking for any formal catering qualifications or experience of working in the hospitality industry for this honorary position. Instead, they are seeking applicants with a passion for food and a well-developed palate to test all of their new dishes before they are added to the menus, and then recommend their favourites to the guests.  Chateau Impney serves well in excess of 50,000 meals annually across its restaurant, bars, weddings, and conference and exhibition facilities.
Applications close at midnight (GMT) on Thursday 3 July, after which a panel of judges will select a shortlist of eight applicants. Then the finalists will be pitted against each other in a series of ‘taste battles’, designed to put their gastronomic talents to the test, before the very first Taster in Residence in appointed.

Spring 2015 is the projected opening date for the new King Street Townhouse hotel in Manchester city centre. King Street Townhouse with 40 bedrooms is the latest development from Manchester-based Eclectic Hotels.
King Street Townhouse is a converted Grade II-listed building which dates back to 1872. It was formerly the Manchester and Salford Savings Bank. Plans for the new hotel include a restaurant and bar, event space for up to 170 delegates as well as a rooftop spa and terrace. There are plans for additional conference and event space plus a rooftop spa pool, treatment rooms and fitness facilities.
Other hotels in Eclectic Group include Great John Street also in central Manchester plus Didsbury House and Eleven Didsbury Park in south Manchester.

THE PIG – on the Beach is the latest PIG hotel to open. The 23 bedroom hotel, formerly the Manor House Hotel, is located along Studland Bay on Dorset’s World Heritage Coast.    THE PIG – on the Beach joins three other pigs in the group: THE PIG in the Forest, in  the New Forest; THE PIG in the Wall, in Southampton and THE PIG - near Bath.
Designed in the same shabby chic style which is THE PIG’s signature, THE PIG – on the Beach features a greenhouse restaurant, the Roundhouse - a private room for dinner parties, 23 bedrooms - plus two treatment rooms which were originally sheep huts but have been transformed into single treatment rooms.
The Roundhouse is a 12 person thatched summerhouse located 50 metres from the main hotel adjacent to the kitchen garden. It is furnished with a table constructed from ‘up-cycled' wine barrel ends with a wood fired oven for cooking. Small meetings can be arranged
