Classic Lodges hotel group has unveiled plans to create a new 60-lodge holiday park in the grounds at Grinkle Park hotel near Whitby in North Yorkshire.

The development would see the restoration of the hotel’s Grade II-listed stable block, the re-introduction of a derelict caravan site and the formation of two new lakes to complement the existing water feature.

The accommodation would range from one-room to six-room properties and most of it would be built on unused plantation. The lodges will cost around £5million to develop.

Grinkle Park currently has 20 recently refurbished bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and three meeting rooms. The ground floor Palmer Suite is the largest meeting room seating up to 180 delegates theatre style.

Grinkle Park is one of fifteen manor house and country house hotels in the Classic Lodges hotel group. They range from Marshall Meadows in Berwick-on-Tweed on the England/Scotland border down to The Hickstead in West Sussex.

A new 40-bedroom luxury hotel - Hotel L’Oscar - is set to go ahead in Holborn, central London following the agreement of a finance deal with the developers.

Hotel L’Oscar should be opening its doors in early 2018.

Hotel L’Oscar will be housed in the Grade II-listed former Baptist Church headquarters on Southampton Row in Holborn. The building fell into disuse in the early 1990s and had been on English Heritage's At Risk register.

The heritage fabric of the interiors including the Regency-style moulded plaster ceilings and marble fireplaces will all be retained and enhanced during the refurbishment.

Hotel L’Oscar will include a restaurant, a bar, a café and conference facilities.

Hotel L’Oscar will be operated by Triangle Hotels & Resorts.

Plans have been submitted to convert a former gentleman’s club on Piccadilly in central London into a 102-bedroom luxury hotel.

The building at 94 Piccadilly is Grade I-listed and operated as the Naval and Military Club from 1865 to 1999. It was known locally as the ‘In and Out’ building.

The original development plans envisaged converting the building into a private residence but these have been superseded. A luxury five-star hotel together with four residential homes will now take its place.

The hotel will feature a basement-level spa incorporating a gym, swimming pool and wellness facilities; a bar, restaurant and wine bar plus banqueting and meeting rooms.

The hotel will be located opposite Green Park, between Buckingham Palace and London’s West End.

The Edgbaston is noted for its elegant afternoon teas served all afternoon as well as for it individually styled luxury bedrooms.

The Edgbaston is located in Highfield Road just across the road from The High Field bar and restaurant which itself has 12 bedrooms. Michelin-starred Simpson’s Restaurant is also just around the corner.
