From 3rd April 2017, the hotel which was formerly the Dakota Nottingham Hotel and more recently the Holiday Inn, was rebranded as mourHotel Nottingham.

MourHotels is a new brand of ‘lifestyle’ hotels – where ‘lifestyle is defined as targeting influential individuals with higher than average disposable incomes.

Nottingham is the first of around twelve hotels the group intend to open in the UK over the next six months.

These will be based around London and in the main commercial centres across the UK.

MourHotels will be a mix of new-build hotels and conversion of existing hotels.

According to Russell Allen, the Chairman of mourHotels: “The mourHotel experience will offer guests stylish design, innovative surroundings and luxury convenience unparalleled within the hospitality industry at the price. Each mourHotel will feature between 120 and 150 rooms, a destination restaurant, grill and bar“.

mourHotel Nottingham is located on the Sherwood Business Park in Nottingham within easy reach of junction 27 of the M1.

Construction work could begin autumn 2017 on the new £25million conference centre at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. This follows approval by Blackpool Council.

The new-look Winter Gardens could be hosting their first conference in 2019.

The new centre is set to be built on the site of the former car park on Leopold Grove. It will provide extensive conferencing facilities including breakout rooms and exhibition space. It will complement existing space including the Empress Ballroom and the Opera House.

When complete the Winter Gardens Conference and Exhibition Centre will be able to accommodate up to 7,000 delegates.

Planning permission has already been granted to build a hotel across the road from the Winter Gardens.

Meanwhile a new planning application has also been submitted to create a museum on the site as well. The museum would to bring together artefacts, stories and memories, which together tell the story of Blackpool.

The museum will include 20,000 sq-ft of permanent exhibition space, 2,500 sq-ft for temporary exhibitions, and 6,000 sq-ft for learning and rehearsal space for performances together with a 120-seat lecture theatre.

The museum is intended to complement other facilities at the wider Winter Gardens site, including the new conference centre.

Dakota Deluxe Leeds opens on 1st May 2017 in the rejuvenated Bond Court area of Leeds city centre.

Dakota Deluxe Leeds will have 84 luxury bedroom including five executive rooms and ten suites.

As well as a Brasserie Grill and Cocktail Bar, Dakota Deluxe Leeds will also feature Salon Prive, a first-floor cocktail bar for private events with a terrace overlooking Greek Street.

Meeting space includes a boardroom with floor to ceiling windows which will seat up to 16 delegates.

Dakota Deluxe Leeds is located in Russell Street, a five minute walk from Leeds Central station.

This week sees the official opening of the Crowne Plaza Felbridge in East Grinstead following the hotel's recently completed £3million refurbishment.

Crowne Plaza Felbridge has 116 bedrooms including accessible and family rooms, a restaurant, lounge and bar, a spa and fitness centre plus eight purpose built meeting rooms.

Bedrooms at Ibis Styles Leeds City Centre Arena include singles, twins, king doubles and family rooms.

Ibis Styles Leeds City Centre Arena offers an ‘all you can eat’ continental breakfast.

The hotel building itself was formerly a textile mill and then a post office and more recently an office building.
