Portobello Road Gin is planning a ‘gin-shrine’ on the site of an old pub on the corner of Portobello and Talbot Roads in west London.
This is the site where ‘Ginstitute’ initially opened in late 2011 as the new home of gin in West London - as well as being London’s second smallest museum.
The four-storey building will be revamped as a Victorian gin palace with a Spanish restaurant, a gin and tonic bar, private dining rooms, a visitor centre to view the on-site distillery process and a boutique hotel.
Portobello Road Gin is scheduled to open in November 2016.

Plans also include an additional 32 bedrooms as well as an extension to the restaurant with the addition of a sea-facing terrace for alfresco dining.
The new spa will include a three storey "urban style" gym, three studios dedicated to spinning, holistic and fitness classes and treatment rooms. The 17 metre pool will also be refurbished with a reopening planned for next February.
Four eco woodland lodges, with private decks and hot tubs, will be created in the St Michael's spa gardens.
Construction work will start at St Michael's Hotel and Spa in October with completion expected by May 2017. When complete the hotel will be rebranded as the St Michael's.
