Construction of the glass viewing pod for the i360 vertical cable car which will shortly be gracing Brighton beach is now complete. When it opens British Airways i360 will be the world’s tallest moving observation tower, measuring 450ft. It will also be the world’s first vertical cable car.
British Airways i360 was conceived and designed by the creators of the London Eye and is scheduled to open in late Q2 2016.
The British Airways i360 viewing pod can be hired exclusively for an event for up to 200 people. It will have a sky bar, state of the art sound system and video screens. The pod will be heated, air-conditioned and fully accessible for wheelchair users.
The pod will be available for exclusive rides of 20 or 40 minutes during the day or 30 minutes or longer in the evening.
A range of fully flexible events rooms will be available at beach level, all with natural daylight, sound systems and beach terraces. The rooms will accommodate up to 450 guests for a reception down to 12 delegates for a boardroom meeting.
A heritage toll booth dating from 1866 has been fully restored by the i360 team and will be part of the complex. It will available to hire for private dining and receptions in the evening. It will accommodate up to 58 delegates for a reception or 16 guests seated for dinner.
During the evenings, the entire beach buildings and pod at British Airways i360 can be hired exclusively for an event for up to 1,000 people.

Lalit London is a new 70-bedroom, five-star hotel set to open in what used to be St Olave's Grammar School at Tower Bridge in London. Lalit London is expected to open late 2016.
Lalit London will be operated by the Indian-based Lalit Suri Hospitality Group. It will be the group’s first hotel in the UK.
The Grade II-listed building had been derelict for over a decade before conversion work began. The redevelopment will restore the school’s Great Hall into the hotel's restaurant and event space, whilst the Governors' Room with its panelled walls and elaborate plaster ceiling will be converted into a cocktail bar. The bedrooms will be individually designed with those on the top floor featuring a 30ft high ceiling.
Lalit London will include a pan-Indian restaurant called Baluchi.
The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group has 11 hotels in India. They are: The Lalit New Delhi; The Lalit Mumbai; The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar; The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort Goa; The Lalit Ashok Bangalore; The Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace Udaipur; The Lalit Temple View Khajuraho; The Lalit Resort & Spa Bekal (Kerala); The Lalit Jaipur; The Lalit Chandigarh; and The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata.

A ten-storey building which housed the Quality Hotel Plymouth until it closed two years ago has been described as an ‘eyesore’. It has become a target for anti-social behaviour, including a number of arson attacks.
The city council now plan to demolish the building constructed in the late 1960’s. They would like to replace it with a new ‘international standard hotel’.
Whilst the building itself may be an eyesore it does have a very attractive location on Plymouth Hoe overlooking Plymouth Sound.
Demolition of the former 111-bedroom hotel could take place in the next few weeks.

Sadler’s Wells Events has launched a new enhanced hospitality package for the corporate market; developed in response to a demand for a high-end hospitality offering.
The Sadler’s Wells packages include exclusive hire of the venue’s Pina Bausch Room with a champagne reception, bowl food catering and canapés along with tickets to a choice of shows on offer at the theatre.
Sadler's Wells Events will also be launching a new ‘Supper at Sadler’s’ dining experience giving corporate groups the opportunity to enjoy a restaurant experience within the theatre site after each show.
Sadler’s Wells Events Executive Kelly McGibney says: “It’s really great to see such an increase in the revenue generated from hospitality events here. We’ve also seen an increase in enquiries for client hospitality events during the festive period and we’re noticing a trend that buyers are keen to tie in our show packages at the end of a day of conferences or meetings.”
Sadler’s Wells Theatre is located in central London, 200 metres from Angel tube station and a short walk to Kings Cross and Euston stations. The complex includes two theatres; along with a large conference space, lecture theatre and three multi-purpose meeting rooms.

Signature Living, who operate several serviced apartment units in Liverpool including the Grade II-listed 30 James Street as well as the recently-opened Shankly Hotel, have released plans for their latest project also in Liverpool.
60 Old Hall Street, once called 'the ugliest building on Old Hall Street', is being totally refurbished to create new serviced apartments, office space and ground floor retail units. Two floors are to be added on top of the building which will create a glass box gymnasium featuring an outdoor running track with views across the city.
Preliminary building work has already started on the building which has been vacant for some time. The multi-million pound revamp should take around nine months to complete.
